Marriage, Sex and Living Wisely — A Sex Education resource

Are you looking for a resource to help you teach the Christian view of sex and marriage in a clear and compelling way? Check out Marriage, Sex and Living Wisely by Lovewise, a charity dedicated to helping parents, youth groups and schools to teach teens to save sex for marriage and to see marriage as “so close that it is like being one person and this is reflected in the complete physical unity of sexual intercourse, which may lead to the procreation of children.” (Family Education Trust Winter 2021)

Marriage, Sex and Living Wisely is a web-based resource for ages 12 t0 16, and it is available for free on request. It includes slideshow presentations with slide notes and downloadable worksheets.

There are six modules in the presentation:

  1. What is marriage?
  2. What are the benefits of marriage?
  3. When to be sexually intimate.
  4. What happens if you don’t keep sexual intimacy for marriage?
  5. Practical steps to help make a relationship that will last.
  6. Relationships: getting it right (designed to be used as a stand-alone presentation offered in both a boys’ and girls’ specific version}

BARBARA’S MISSION

Young people everywhere are being bombarded day in and day out in our super-sexualized society by messages that both trivialize sex and encourage sexual activity. These messages are hurting our young people. Yet as Christians we are failing to give our teens a picture of healthy sexuality; we leave them on their own to figure things out, often with disastrous results – physical, emotional, and social. It doesn’t need to be this way, and it breaks my heart to see the pain resulting from our lack of action.
