How many genders?

I once saw a delightful poster in Japan — a sketch of two toddlers standing side by side. One is staring into his diaper, the other (with ribbons in her hair) is half looking into her own diaper and half … Continue reading →

Bring Dating Back

“I wonder if anyone even knows where to go to gain a clear understanding on matters of love, sex, and marriage,” says Walt Mueller, founder and president of CYPU (Center for Parent/Youth Understanding). The Love &Fidelity Network provides such a … Continue reading →

What should I say . . . ?

“What should I say to my child about sex?” I’m inevitably asked this question when I speak to a group of parents. A recent evening with Iranians in Turkey was no different, except this time some of the parents were … Continue reading →

A Christmas story

In the story of the first Christmas, at least one of the main characters was a teenager — Mary, the mother of Jesus. Mary was happily “betrothed” to Joseph, meaning that they had the status of marriage but not yet … Continue reading →

BARBARA’S MISSION

Young people everywhere are being bombarded day in and day out in our super-sexualized society by messages that both trivialize sex and encourage sexual activity. These messages are hurting our young people. Yet as Christians we are failing to give our teens a picture of healthy sexuality; we leave them on their own to figure things out, often with disastrous results – physical, emotional, and social. It doesn’t need to be this way, and it breaks my heart to see the pain resulting from our lack of action.
